How a Tesla referral link works — and how we verify every one

Everything behind the one-click tool: what the link actually is, how to apply it, and the exact way we check every link before it joins the rotation.

What a referral link actually is

A Tesla referral link is simply an owner's referral code wrapped in a ts.la/… URL. Opening it seeds your session with that code so Tesla can recognise it at order time. That's the whole mechanism — there's no coupon to redeem and no separate account to create. (More on the two forms: link vs code.)

How to apply it at checkout

The single most common mistake is configuring the car first and clicking a link later. Do it the other way around — order of operations is everything.

  1. Open the referral link first

Tap the owner link (a ts.la/… URL) before you start configuring. Opening it first is what tells Tesla's system to attach the referral to your session.

  2. Configure and place your order

Choose your Model 3, Model Y or Cybertruck as normal, and sign in or create your Tesla account in the same browser session you opened the link in.

  3. Confirm the benefit in the order summary

Before paying, check the order summary shows the referral benefit (for example the FSD trial in the US). If it isn't there, reopen the link and restart the configuration before you commit.

What "confirmed" looks like

On a US or Canada order, the order summary shows the referral benefit (the three-month FSD (Supervised) trial) attached to the purchase. In markets where the perk is Supercharging credit — the UK, France, Spain — the confirmation appears as the charging benefit rather than a price change. One referral applies per transaction, and a vehicle order and a solar order count separately, so you can use a link for each.

If the benefit doesn't appear

Reopen the referral link in the same browser, clear a stale configuration, and rebuild before you pay. You won't get a second chance to attach a referral after payment.

How we verify every link

The competitor claims "real links from real owners." We show the method instead of just asserting it:

1

Each link must resolve to a live ts.la/… owner link — not a dead or recycled code.

2

We confirm it applies the current benefit in Tesla's configurator flow for the target model.

3

We stamp the date we last checked (the "verified 13 July 2026" line on the tool) and re-check whenever Tesla changes terms.

The buyer pays nothing extra; the perk is Tesla's, and the owner may earn Tesla Credits. We disclose that plainly and mark every outbound referral link rel="nofollow sponsored noopener". See our disclosure.
