The 2026 price ladder, from $36,990 to $61,990

Five prices, one fixed benefit. The spread between top and bottom is what decides whether $297 is a rounding error or a real line item.

2026 US pricing anchors the range with Model 3 Standard at $36,990 and Model Y Standard at $39,990, running up through the six-seat Model Y L at $61,990 to Cybertruck trims in the eighties and nineties. One referral benefit, five denominators — which is what makes the percentage view worth computing rather than asserting.

The ladder, with the benefit expressed against it

A $297 FSD trial (3 × $99) against 2026 US starting prices.
CarPriceBenefit as % of price
Model 3 Standard$36,9900.80%
Model Y Standard$39,9900.74%
Model Y L$61,9900.48%
Cybertruck Premium AWD$84,9900.35%
Cyberbeast$99,9900.30%

Top to bottom, a factor of 2.7. Every row is the same benefit.

Where the eligibility line cuts across the ladder

The ladder and the eligible list are not the same thing, and mixing them up is expensive. Model S and Model X have been outside the referral programme since March 2026, so the two most expensive cars in the showroom carry no referral benefit at any price. Within Cybertruck, eligibility is trim-specific: Premium AWD and Cyberbeast qualify, Dual Motor AWD does not. A referral link applied to an ineligible car pays nobody and gives the buyer nothing, and nothing in the ordering flow stops you.

What the spread is actually good for

Sizing effort, not making decisions. At the bottom of the ladder $297 is comparable to a paint option and worth a moment's attention; at the top it is inside the noise of a delivery fee. In neither case is it a reason to change what you buy, when you buy, or how you configure it. It is a reason to spend forty seconds opening a link before you configure.

Where the ladder moved this year

The ladder is not static, and 2026 has already moved it twice in ways that change the bottom row. Standard trims arrived to anchor the range lower than Tesla had gone before in this generation, while at the other end two of three Cybertruck trims took a $5,000 increase in August 2026 with no specification change. Both moves widen the spread in the table above, and both leave the numerator untouched — which is the whole point: pricing changes the meaning of the referral benefit without the referral programme changing at all.

Why the same table cannot be built for Europe

Mainland Europe's referral benefit is Supercharging distance rather than a subscription trial, and its cash value depends on local per-kWh pricing and on whether the holder can reach stalls before the six-month clock expires. A percentage would be false precision, so this site does not publish one — the conversion into sessions is in what network growth does to a charging reward.

The line the percentage cannot show

The benefit is a subscription trial. It does not reduce the price, the financed amount or the tax base, and it converts to a paid $99 monthly charge at the end of month three unless cancelled. A percentage of the deal describes value received, not money saved on the invoice.
